2009 General Cycle Awardee
New Hope Housing, Inc. will use this grant to sustain and expand the Resident Services Program currently being administered at their single room occupancy (SRO) communities in Houston, Texas. New Hope’s core purpose is to create life-stabilizing affordable apartment homes with a sense of dignity for adults who live with low incomes. New Hope’s continuum of care strategy offers individuals supportive housing and supportive services to help assisted individuals in transition from homelessness or near homelessness and to enable them to live as independently as possible. New Hope’s supportive housing services assist individuals in three ways: 1) achieving residential stability; 2) increasing the skill levels and/or income levels of assisted individuals; and, 3) obtaining greater self-sufficiency and stability.
