Grant Awarded to Interfaith Action of Central Texas
February 14, 2013
Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) accepted a $30,000 grant from the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) on Thursday February 14, 2013. Presenting the check to iACT was Bob Jones, Board Chairman of TSAHC and KiYa Moghaddam, Director of Community and Media Relations for State Representative Dawnna Dukes. The check was presented to iACT at the home of Mr. George Benson. Mr. Benson's home will be rehabilitated with the grant funding.
The grant is part of TSAHC's Texas Foundations Fund Program. This award will enable iACT to provide critical home repairs to very low-income Austin homeowners through its Hands on Housing program, which is Austin’s largest volunteer-based housing rehabilitation program. The Hands on Housing program works towards maintaining affordable housing in Austin by utilizing volunteers to repair homes for homeowners who are financially unable to make the needed repairs themselves.
