Announcing A New $4 Million Down Payment Assistance Program for Flood-Impacted Households

This week TSAHC, Connective, and the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country announced a new down payment assistance program for Kerr County residents affected by the July 4th floods.

Funded by the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, the $4 million investment is part of the Foundation's larger $40 million commitment to help local residents regain stable housing. 

Program Benefits

  • Up to $145,000 in down payment assistance per household, on top of TSAHC's standard down payment assistance options.
  • Additional $30,000 in assistance for first-time buyers, veterans and active-duty military personnel.

Who's Eligible

  • Residents of Kerr County or Comfort, TX, during the July 4, 2025 floods, whose primary residence was made uninhabitable by the flooding. Residents may be homeowners or renters. 

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants may earn up to $123,500, regardless of family size. 
  • Total household assets of the applicant is limited to $60,000. Assistance will be reduced dollar-for-dollar above this limit. 
  • Applicants must qualify for a TSAHC mortgage loan (min. 620 FICO) and complete a homebuyer education course. 
  • The maximum home purchase price statewide is $544,232.70.

Applicants must work with one of four lenders pre-approved to offer this assistance.
