Application Now Open for the FY2027 Texas Foundations Fund Disaster Recovery Program
Through the Texas Foundations Fund, TSAHC partners with nonprofit organizations across the state to provide services that support the housing stability of Texans. The Texas Foundations Fund Disaster Recovery program specifically provides critical home repairs for damages caused by natural disasters.
About This Year’s Application
TSAHC is currently accepting applications for the FY2027 Texas Foundations Fund Disaster Recovery grant cycle. To apply, eligible applicants must be providing home repairs in response to a weather-related natural disaster declared on or after June 1, 2025.
This year, TSAHC is committing a total of up to $350,000 in disaster recovery funding. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is fully expended (or until July 31, 2027).

Changes to This Year’s Guidelines
Whether you have applied to our Disaster Recovery program or not, we want to highlight the changes we’ve made to this year’s program guidelines.
- Total Amount of Funding — We’re keeping the total amount of available funding at $350,000, which matches the elevated funding level that we offered last year.
- Response Window — Organizations may apply for disaster recovery funding for disasters that were declared on or after June 1, 2025, rather than on or after June 1, 2026, giving organizations an extra year to apply for funding.
- Maximum Grant Size — We’ve increased the maximum amount an organization may receive per disaster to $50,000.
- Maximum Spend per Household — We’ve doubled the maximum amount of TFF Disaster Recovery funds an organization may spend on each household, increasing it to $10,000.
- Demonstrated Need — Organizations may now submit more than one application per declared disaster, if they submit a report on their previous disaster recovery award and can demonstrate sufficient demand for an additional award.
- Flood Preparedness — TSAHC will now require all home repair households located in a 100-year floodplain to obtain flood insurance for two years upon the completion of their home repairs. A portion of TSAHC’s grant may be used to assist with the cost of flood insurance if needed.
- This means that grantee organizations will need to provide the following during their final report:
- Proof that all repair recipients located in a 100-year floodplain have active flood insurance policies and
- A form signed by all repair recipients located in a 100-year floodplain (a sample form will be available for download within the online application) confirming that they will maintain their flood insurance policy for at least two years, and if they let the policy lapse during this time, they will not be eligible for additional home repair assistance from TSAHC.
- This means that grantee organizations will need to provide the following during their final report:
