2025 PSH Symposium

The 2025 Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Symposium was held November 4-5, 2025, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. The 1.5 day Symposium provided a platform for developers, property managers, service providers, health professionals, homelessness response organizations, and others to share best practices, collaborate, and gain insight into how to work together to move families and individuals out of housing instability and into permanent, service-enriched housing.

Texas Supportive Housing Institute

The Texas Supportive Housing Institute is a multi-month, training and technical assistance program that empowers supportive housing development teams with the information, resources and tools necessary to move people out of homelessness and into stable, service-enriched housing.

What is the Permanent Supportive Housing Symposium?

The Permanent Supportive Housing Symposium is a platform for developers, property managers, service providers, health professionals, homelessness response organizations, and others to share best practices, collaborate, and gain insight into how to work together to move families and individuals out of housing instability and into permanent, service-enriched housing.

When is the Symposium offered?

We hold the Symposium in the fall of every other year (odd numbered years).

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in permanent supportive housing. Attendees commonly are housing developers, nonprofits, service providers, health professionals, financial entities, and homelessness response organizations.

Is there anything else offered?

We enhance the Symposium by offering add-ons like a tour of supportive housing communities and a Permanent Supportive Housing Academy.

When does registration open?

Registration typically opens in the summer of odd numbered years. Check back here for updates on the next Symposium and registration information.

2025 Symposium Keynote Speaker

Jeff Hobbs, Author of Seeking Shelter: A Working Mother, Her Children and a Story of Homelessness in America.

Jeff Hobbs is the New York Times bestselling author of The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace, which won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, was a finalist for the Pen/Faulkner Award in Biography, was a finalist for the Carnegie Medal in nonfiction, and was made into the 2024 film Rob Peace. He is also the author of Show Them You’re Good and Children of the State. He lives in Los Angeles with his family.

2025 Symposium Agenda

Three tracks were offered that spoke to the interests of attendees: (1) supportive housing design and development, (2) financing for development and supportive services and (3) operations and service delivery. Additionally, there were two other plenary sessions highlighting perspectives from authority figures in supportive housing and multiple networking opportunities including a networking reception.
