TSAHC has partnered with the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) to launch the Texas Supportive Housing Institute to provide technical assistance to developers, service providers and property managers interested in creating and operating supportive housing in their communities.
The Texas Supportive Housing Institute provides a forum for effective team building among project managers, direct service providers, and property management staff. Teams will receive information, resources and tools to create successful permanent supportive housing projects, to move people out of long-term homelessness, and to help formerly homeless tenants remain stably housed.
Interested in expanding your knowledge of supportive housing? Every other year, TSAHC hosts the PSH Symposium, an event designed to foster collaboration, share best practices, and gain insight into how to move families and individuals out of housing instability and into permanent, service-enriched housing.
The following teams have been selected for the 2026 Texas Supportive Housing Institute.
We accept applications from anyone interested in developing permanent supportive housing. Typically, these are nonprofit housing organizations, service providers, housing developers, housing authorities, units of government and homelessness response organizations.
Eligible teams must include, at a minimum, a designated team leader, a developer partner, a supportive service provider partner, and a property management partner. Additional team members may include, but are not limited to, consultants and/or award administrators, local city development staff, local housing authority staff, or Continuum of Care representatives.
Dedicated Supportive Housing (100% SH units) and Integrated Supportive Housing (mix of affordable and supportive housing) developments are eligible to apply. For integrated developments, a minimum of 25% of units should be dedicated to supportive housing.
Yes, but we do our best to accommodate all teams that apply.
We do our best to meet teams where they are no matter how early they are in the process. Even if you just have a concept and haven’t identified a development site or population to serve, we will do our best to work with teams wherever they are in the process.
The Institute takes place over four months, and there will be 1.5 to 2 days of training each month. We do out best to provide the dates of the training sessions before teams to apply so they can plan around it. There is also a finale that is held after the conclusion of the last session.
The application for the 2026 Institute will be open on May 29, 2026 and will close on July 17, 2026.
