On Wednesday, April 2nd, the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) presented a $15,000 check to Buckner Children and Family Services, Inc. The check was presented by State Representative Trent Ashby and David Long, TSAHC President. Accepting the check on behalf of Buckner were Marisa Phillips, Buckner Children and Family Services Administrator and Lauri Ann Hanson, Senior Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator.
The grant was awarded as part of the 2013 cycle of TSAHC's Texas Foundations Fund program and will support the Lufkin Family Place, a 40 unit residential facility that serves low-income single parent families at risk of homelessness through a transitional housing program that focuses on higher education and offers the families the opportunity to achieve enduring self-sufficiency.
