Program
ACT Land Banking
The Affordable Communities of Texas (ACT) Land Bank is focused on creating affordable housing and stabilizing communities. Since 2010, the ACT Land Bank has purchased or received through donation more than 600 lots and homes. These properties have been redeveloped by our local partners and primarily benefit households earning 80% of the median income.
TSAHC also provides technical assistance to local governments looking to create local land banks and has statutory authority to accept tax foreclosed lots for inclusion in our land bank.
For more information on how TSAHC can help your organization or community, please contact our team at: ACTinfo@tsahc.org.
Additional Benefits
Other benefits that our local partners receive by participating in the program include:
- Priority access to redevelop homes held by TSAHC’s statewide land bank
- Short or long –term tax exemption on properties
- Analysis of potential land bank sites to determine feasibility for redevelopment
- Consultation services to help plan and prepare for a local land banking initiative

For Profit Builders
On a limited basis, TSAHC contracts with for profit builders and developers to develop land bank sites. When TSAHC has received properties where we do not have a local partner, we contract with local builders/developers to create new affordable housing.
To learn more about our partnerships with for profit builders please email us at: ACTinfo@tsahc.org or schedule a meeting through this link.
Properties for Sale
TSAHC and our local partners often have properties for-sale. Most homes have been developed as affordable housing and have resale and income restrictions. From time-to-time TSAHC acquires lots or homes and cannot redevelop them for affordable housing. These properties are also listed on our Find a TSAHC Property search tool.
