The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) may publish social media content to third party sites. These sites are not official tsahc.org web sites and therefore, the external sites’ policies apply.

Privacy 

Only public information is permitted to be posted on TSAHC social media websites. If communication that takes place on TSAHC social media sites involves or requires private information, communication will be redirected through other appropriate channels. Postings to TSAHC social media sites become public record, and this information may be subject to public information requests. For more information about public information requests, please refer to TSAHC’s Open Records Requests policy. 

TSAHC is not responsible for content posted by others to TSAHC social media sites.  Social media users that enter personal information on TSAHC social media sites do so at their own risk; TSAHC is not responsible for the public display of such private information. TSAHC may remove postings to its social media sites that contain personally identifiable information, but neither TSAHC, nor its employees or contractors are responsible for any damages caused by delays in such removal. 

Public Information and Record Retention 

Social media sites contain communications sent to or received by TSAHC employees, and such communications may therefore be considered public records and be subject to State Records Retention requirements. These retention requirements apply regardless of the form of the record (digital text, photos, audio, or video, for example). 

To the extent that the third party records retention policies are inconsistent with the Texas State Record Retention Schedule, TSAHC will put forth reasonable efforts to archive copies of social media content in order to meet State records retention obligations. 

Records Retention

Social media content will be retained for at least the required period of time in accordance with TSAHC’s Retention Schedule.

Terms of Service 

TSAHC social media sites are third party sites and have terms of service and policies that are not governed by TSAHC or the State of Texas. These third-party sites are not official TSAHC websites and the third party’s website terms of service and policies apply

Content of Social Media Posts 

All content published on TSAHC social media is subject to monitoring. This content may take the form of digital text for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, photography images for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, and videos for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. All TSAHC social media sites are designated as limited public forums.

User-generated (including AI-generated) posts will be rejected or potentially removed when the content of a post: 

• contains profanity or obscene content, including language or images that meet the legal definition of obscenity or contain graphic sexual content
• contain true threats or speech that reasonably appears to threaten violence toward any person or group
• contains comments containing true threats of violence, incitement to imminent lawless activity, or unlawful harassment directed at any individual or group
• contains spam or unrelated links to other sites
• is unrelated to TSAHC business
• advocates illegal activity
• infringes on copyrights or trademarks
• contains personally, identifiable medical information
• contains information that may compromise the safety, security, or proceedings of public systems or any criminal or civil investigations
• contains lewd, lascivious, sexually explicit, obscene, or unlawful images
