Foundation Communities will utilize a $30,000 award to fund on-site supportive housing services for the residents of multifamily apartment complexes in Austin, Texas.  The grant will enable Foundation Communities to enhance supportive housing services through its Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for single adults and Children’s Home Initiative (CHI) for families.

Austin Habitat for Humanity will utilize a $30,000 award to provide at least three critical home repair projects through the organization’s Home Repair Program. Through this program, Austin Habitat for Humanity assists very low-income homeowners whose homes have structural deficiencies, and safety, accessibility and livability issues.  All households assisted with funding from the Texas Foundations Fund will have at least one household member with a disability.

MET will utilize a $30,000 award to perform critical repairs on six farmworker owner-occupied homes in Willacy, Starr, Zavala, Maverick, and Dimmitt counties.  MET will focus funds on homes that are severely substandard and require significant resources to bring homes up to standard.

Green Doors will utilize a $20,000 award to provide on-site supportive housing services to residents of its permanent supportive housing (PSH) program.  Green Doors’ supportive housing services focus on providing residents with the training, services, and opportunities they need to succeed and be as independent as they can be. 

Interfaith Action of Central Texas will utilize a $20,000 award to support its Hands on Housing program, which provides vital home repairs for low-income homeowners living in the Austin area.  Hands on Housing addresses substandard living conditions to eliminate health and safety hazards and provide improved accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

New Hope Housing, Inc. will utilize a $20,000 award to sustain and expand the on-site Resident Services Program currently administered at its single room occupancy (SRO) communities in Houston, Texas.

Alamo Area Development Corporation will utilize a $15,000 award to assist three very low-income households through the Alamo Area Accessibility and Critical Repair (AAACR) program.  Through the AAACR program, Alamo Area Development Corporation addresses leaking roofs and extensive plumbing problems, and performs accessibility modifications, including remodeling bathrooms, widening doors and lowering counters for households with an individual with a disability. 

Buckner Children and Family Services, Inc. will utilize a $15,000 award to support the Lufkin Family Place, which assists low-income single parent families (the vast majority headed by women) at risk of homelessness through a transitional housing program that focuses on higher education and offers the families the opportunity to achieve enduring self-sufficiency.

CDC Brownsville will utilize a $15,000 award to perform critical repairs for three very low-income households through the Colonia Redevelopment Program. The focus of the program is to provide, safe, decent and sanitary housing by bringing existing substandard housing units into compliance with state and local building codes. 

Easter Seals Central Texas will utilize a $15,000 award to provide accessibility modifications through the Critical Home Accessibility Modifications Program (CHAMP). CHAMP addresses the needs of the disability community by providing home modifications that allow individuals with disabilities to become more self-sufficient within their home and in their community.

Galilee CDC will utilize a $15,000 award to provide critical home repairs for very low-income households in San Angelo through the Helping Hands program. Specifically, funding from the Texas Foundations Fund will enable Galilee CDC to enclose the siding of two homes to prevent lead-based paint poisoning. 

Habitat for Humanity of Smith County will utilize its $15,000 award to support its ReHabitat program, which performs critical home repairs for very low-income households. Specifically, funding from the Texas Foundations Fund will enable Habitat for Humanity of Smith County to repair the roofs of three very low-income homeowners.

LifeWorks will utilize a $15,000 award from the Texas Foundations Fund to fund a portion of the supportive services to be provided at The Works at Pleasant Valley (“The Works”), the agency’s new supportive housing program for Austin youths transitioning out of foster care.

My Father’s House Lubbock will utilize its $15,000 award to provide supportive services to 15 very low-income households through its transitional housing program. This program focuses on helping single-parent households headed by women obtain higher education to achieve greater self-sufficiency for themselves and their children.

VinCare Services of Austin Foundation will utilize a $15,000 award from the Texas Foundations Fund to support Saint Louise House, a supportive housing program that serves 34 very low-income homeless women with children. Residents of Saint Louise House receive comprehensive case management and other supportive services that give them the support they need to set and achieve goals that lead to self-sufficiency.

The Women’s Home will utilize a $15,000 award from the Texas Foundations Fund to support the Jane Cizik Garden Place, an 87 unit permanent supportive housing complex located in the Spring Branch area of Houston.
