Property donations are critical to the success of TSAHC’s Affordable Communities of Texas (ACT) Program, Texas’ first statewide land bank and land trust program.
Using our unique statutory authority to own property tax-free, TSAHC acquires foreclosed and vacant properties from financial institutions, and then partners with local housing developers to rehabilitate these properties and sell or lease them to low-income families. By focusing our initial acquisition efforts on foreclosed properties, TSAHC is helping stabilize neighborhoods heavily impacted by the foreclosure crisis while at the same time creating housing opportunities for working families.
We rely on federal and private funding along with property donations to expand our ACT program and increase the supply of affordable housing in Texas.
If you are a financial institution or individual interested in donating property to TSAHC, please contact David Danenfelzer at 512-477-3562 or email actinfo@tsahc.org.
TSAHC was created in 1994 as a self-sustaining nonprofit housing organization. At TSAHC we believe that every Texan deserves the opportunity to live in safe, decent and affordable housing. Our programs target the housing needs of low-income families and other underserved populations in Texas who do not have acceptable housing options through conventional financial channels. All TSAHC programs are offered statewide, with special attention given to rural areas and other select target areas.
