Last week, we celebrated the culmination of our fourth Texas Supportive Housing Institute (Institute) in Dallas where Institute participants, funders, and supporters gathered to watch final presentations from each team.

Launched in 2020, the Institute is offered in partnership with the Corporation for Supportive Housing. Designed to promote the development of permanent supportive housing (PSH), the Institute provides developers, property managers, and service providers with the training and tools they need to build successful PSH developments in their local communities.

The teams detailed below began the Institute with an in-person kick-off in October 2024 followed by three months of intensive, virtual training. Last week's finale served as a graduation for the participants following their "project reveal" showcase. The respective names of their projects are included below next to team names.

We're grateful the teams participated in the Institute at no cost thanks to the generous support from these funders: Wells FargoJP Morgan ChaseDominiumTexas Community BankRegions BankInsperityFrost BankFederal Home Loan Bank of DallasVecino Group, and Capital Impact Partners.

The Institute may be done, but these teams still have work ahead. Their next steps inculde applying for a quality endorsement certificate from CSH to ensure their community represents the higest standards in PSH, accessing ongoing technical assistance to address issues as they arise, and procuring necessary approvals from local jurisdictions as well as securing capital to build their developments. We look forward to supporting them along this journey as they seek to support the most vulnerable in their communities.
