Monday marks the beginning of Teacher Appreciation Week, and in celebration of the holiday, we'd like to take a moment to recognize the hardwork and dedication that teachers put into educating Texas children.
In consideration of this, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind teachers of a TSAHC program that has their future in mind as well.
TSAHC's Homes for Texas Heroes program was created in 2003 specifically to honor Texans that serve our community through specific career paths. Since its beginning, the program has provided down payment assistance and mortgage interest tax credits to help teachers and other Texas Heroes buy a home in the community they serve.
This program empowers classroom teachers, teacher aides, school librarians, school counselors, and school nurses working full-time in a K-12 public school in Texas by making home buying more affordable.
Our Homes for Texas Heroes program offers multiple options, so Texas Heroes can select the option that works best for their financial situation. Program benefits include:
Heroes using both our DPA and MCC (Mortgage Credit Certificate) programs do need to be first-time home buyers (unless purchasing a home in a Targeted Area); however, heroes will receive the MCC for FREE -- a $500 savings!
