TSAHC’s Year in Review

As we make our way through the holiday season and into the start of a new year, I'm mindful of just how important a strong team and strong partnerships are in carrying out our mission. Together, we have remained strong in our mission to facilitate, preserve, and expand affordable housing opportunities for Texans.

Our dedicated network of lenders, REALTORS, housing counselors, developers, nonprofits, and funders are truly critical to the success of TSAHC's programs and to the impact that they have on communities in Texas. 

As we prepare to move forward into the new year, I'd like to take a moment to spotlight some of our hard work from 2025.  

TSAHC's Year in Review: 

• Provided mortgage loans, down payment assistance and/or mortgage interest tax credits to more than 6,859 home buyers. 
• Created or preserved 461 affordable housing units through our Multifamily Private Activity Bond,  Texas Housing Impact Fund and Affordable Communities of Texas programs, including both multifamily housing units and single family homes.
• Awarded $1.25 million in grants to 85 nonprofit organizations across Texas through our Texas Foundations Fund (TFF) program and awarded $250,000 in disaster recovery grants to 10 nonprofit organizations in 2025. In preparation for 2026, TSAHC’s Board of Directors approved increasing the total grant funding available for the program to $350,000. We also expanded TFF's Disaster Recovery program to accept applications from organizations that have never received a grant from TSAHC before, which means our funds can have an impact even in rural areas where we may not have pre-existing partnerships with critical repair organizations.
• Trained 46 housing counselors and nonprofit developers through our Housing Connection training program and provided hotel scholarships to those traveling from out of town.
• Hosted our second Permanent Supportive Housing Symposium in early November. Nearly 180 people gathered to share best practices, collaborate, and apply lessons learned in the supportive housing space. This builds upon the success of our first Symposium, the work of our Texas Supportive Housing Institute, and our commitment to address the housing needs of the most vulnerable.
